These etched brake gear and coupling rod frets are available on occasion

These frets are ideal for scratch builders or for replacing broken white metal brake gear parts.
As you can see, they include brake arms, rods, cross beams, shoes and brake blocks
and various links as appropriate.



Hall class brake gear

This brake gear is etched on 0.028" brass for the G.W.R. 4-6-0 Hall class locomotive with 7 foot x 7 foot nine inch wheelbase. The parts are designed to be assembled using 1/32nd rivets or 14BA screws and nuts could be used, note these are not supplied with the fret. This fret is offered at 8-00 GBP plus 1-00 GBP postage UK only.




43xx brake gear

This etched brass 0.028" thick brake gear fret is designed for the G.W.R. 43xx, 53xx, 63xx, 73xx, 83xx, and 93xx 2-6-0 moguls. The parts are designed to be assembled using 1/32nd rivets or 14BA screws and nuts, note, these are not supplied with the fret. This fret also includes parts for a brake cylinder and is priced at 10-00 GBP plus 1-00 GBP postage UK only.




loco brake gear

This etched brass 0.028" thick brake gear fret is designed for the G.W.R. type locomotives again with 7' x 7' 9" wheelbase. The brake arms on this fret are 19 millimeters long between the top and bottom holes. The short arms are 11 millimeters long between the top and bottom holes. The parts are designed to be assembled using 1/32nd rivets or 14BA screws and nuts, note, these are not supplied with the fret. This fret is priced at 8-00 GBP plus 1-00 GBP postage UK only.




G.W.R. tender brake gear

This 0.028" thick etched tender brake gear fret is for the 7' 6" x 7' 6" wheelbase tender and is priced at 9-00 GBP plus 1-00 GBP postage UK only.




G.W.R. 7' 0" x 7' 9" coupling rods

This 0.018" thick etched nickel silver coupling rod fret is for G.W.R. 7' 0" x 7' 9" wheelbase locomotives and is priced at 9-00 GBP plus 1-00 GBP postage UK only.




G.W.R. 22xx coupling rods

This 0.018" thick etched nickel silver coupling rod fret is for the G.W.R. 22xx with a 7' 3" x 8' 3" wheelbase locomotives and is priced at 9-00 GBP plus 1-00 GBP postage UK only.
