This locomotive kit has lots of rivet detail etched on the side tanks and the smoke box overlay wrapper. The rivet detail on the footplate and buffer beams etc. has to be popped out in the usual way. The smoke box is a brass tube cut to length for you finished at the front end with a turned brass disk onto which the cast door fits. The tapered boiler and firebox are etched, to ensure their central position they have tags that fit into slots on the tank top plate, this also aids assembly and easy location. The cab is furnished with a basic cast backhead with separate fittings. These include a fire door, site feed lubricator, drivers brake valve, water gauge and regulator handle. A reversing stand with separate lever, inner side tank casting's, brake standard and the usual tool boxes complete the inside of the cab. The cab roof is supplied with an etched vent that can be made to slide. The safety valve cover is polished brass with a cast white metal top feed. |

The chassis is etched on brass, it has ample spacers and generous axle bearings and can be compensated if required, all the parts being supplied in the kit. Etched brake gear with double hangers, separate brake shoes and blocks, rods and connectors are all included along with etched double thickness springs. The chassis is complete with jointed coupling rods which are etched on nickel silver. Cast sand boxes are also included. White metal casting's are supplied for all the fittings except the safety valve cover which as stated is brass. As usual with my kits, all the screws, hand rail knobs, wire and tube are supplied. Sprung buffers with steel heads and brass buffer stocks are included in the kit along with a good set of instructions compiled in the form of an A4 booklet. The kit is supplied in a box large enough to house the completed locomotive. |
