This locomotive kit is etched on 0.018" for the loco and tender body, and 0.028" for the loco and tender chassis. The coupling rods are etched on 0.018" nickel silver, these being laminated on assembly for strength. The kit is designed to be soldered together for the main parts, but some of the fittings could be glued. Sprung buffers are provided for the loco and tender in the kit. The chassis has ample spacers for strength and adequate size bearings for the axles to run in. The brake gear is etched in 0.028" brass including the brake shoes and brake rods. The bogie is fitted with a spring for support and adjustment, bogie brakes are also supplied in the kit.

The casting's for sand boxes, and cylinder release valves are in white metal. For those of you who like a challenge, the chassis can be compensated, all the parts being supplied in the kit. Various types of motors could be fitted, there is ample room in the fire box for them. The body of the locomotive has the beading detail on the cab and splasher sides etched on, this saves a lot of work. The footplate, buffer beams and smoke box have rivet detail, some of which has to be punched out by the builder. The boiler is a brass tube, which is cut to length for you with the inner wrapper fitted, an etched riveted overlay for the smoke box is also supplied. All the casting's are in white metal, however, the whistle is in brass. The cab has an etched backhead with cast fittings, it is also furnished with a screw reverse and cast wheel boxes. A fall plate and tender coupling are also provided.

The sturdy tender can be built with or without the side panel, with or without rivet detail. It also has two types of front bulkhead, giving the option of coal doors. Separate half round beading is supplied for the side and rear of the tank. White metal casting's for the brake standard, dome and water filler are included, along with the axle boxes which are plastic. The chassis is a separate unit and can also be compensated on two axles if required, all parts being supplied. This also has etched brake arms, shoes and brake rods. The kit comes with wire, tube, handrail knobs, screws and nuts and a comprehensive set of assembly instructions and a box large enough to house the finished locomotive.
